COVER REVEAL!

leahrochellep

The day has finally arrived. The cover art for Oenone is here! I'm so excited to share this cover art with you all. Please read below for some sneaky details that hint at the story!

Going into discussions with my publisher, I really had no idea what I wanted or what to expect from the cover art. I sent a few examples of covers I liked: Circe by Madelline Miller, From Bad to Cursed by Lana Harper, a few Emily Henry-style covers. But even my examples were contradictory. All I knew was that Oenone needed to be the focus.

What I was sent back blew me out of the water. Oenone is the dominant figure, staring directly at the viewer with her long hair swirling in waves around the cover. Because she is a water nymph, her hair's wave-like texture and blue color is intentional.

Ivy, strongly associated with ancient Greece, winds around the borders of the image. Ivy also holds associations with fidelity and the ability or desire to cling to something, whether it suits you or not, something that Oenone grapples with throughout the story.

Cradled within the curls of Oenone's hair stand a couple, wrapped in embrace. Beside them is the teaser/tagline: "She's getting a second chance at love... thousands of years after her death."

But what will Oenone do with her second chance?

What am I reading right now? Bet on It by Jodie Slaughter.

I have only recently started this book so I don't have a ton to say quite yet. However, I am really enjoying the mental health representation among the characters. Both characters have their own struggles with their mental health, and as someone who has struggled with depression since I was a teenager, it's really nice to see mental health representation in fiction. Especially in a book like this where the characters can lean on each other and learn and grow from each other. I am looking forward to continuing to read and get to know more about these characters!
