The final character art reveal is here! Today you will get to meet Oenone. This also means that the long awaited cover reveal is only THREE DAYS away! Please read below to learn a bit about my favorite nymph, and to see the character art by @peachie.mochi on Instagram.
When Oenone (eh-no-knee), a Princess of Troy, wakes up in modern day St. Louis, her last memories from ancient Troy are of dying. She's alone, confused, and reeling from her own death as well as the guilt at having refused to help her husband, Paris, who’d been shot by countless Greek arrows.
Soon Aphrodite appears to explain her predicament. Oenone has been returned to life by the Goddess for the purpose of finding Paris and reclaiming the happiness she lost thousands of years ago. While Oenone is grateful for her second chance, she is suspicious. There's always some game when it comes to the Gods, and Aphrodite gives her no hints or tools for survival in this new and foreign era.
Thankfully, a kind museum security guard agrees to help her on her mission. But even with his assistance, the cultural disparities and the losses she’s faced are a struggle. Newfound friends and a budding attraction help her learn more about herself, but as she gains independence and a sense of self, she begins to wonder if another relationship with Paris is what she truly wants.
But how can she turn away from a mission given by a Goddess?

What am I reading right now? 'What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding: A Memoir' by Krisin Newman.
This memoir was written by a Hollywood sitcom writer and focuses on her finding her joy and identity through travel versus the traditional route most of her friends embarked on: marriage and kids. I'm about a third of the way through the book, but as someone who has never really been drawn to that traditional path and has never sought it, I feel seen in a way I have never felt reading a memoir before. The way she describes experiencing another version of herself (she calls her Kristin-adjacent) when traveling, a version she likes, was so familiar and something I myself experience as well. For anyone, especially women, who love to travel and have found a sense of freedom, independence, and joy from that, I definitely recommend giving this book a try.
